چکیده

Although gas chromatography–triple quadrupole mass spectrometry (GC-MS/MS) has been applied to the determination of polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins and furans (PCDD/Fs) in various food samples, there is insufficient evidence evaluate its equivalence with chromatography–high resolution (HRMS). In present study, two GC-MS/MS instruments different ion sources (advanced electron ionization [EI] atmospheric pressure chemical [APCI]) were evaluated for detecting trace levels PCDD/Fs foods. GC-EI-MS/MS GC-APCI-MS/MS showed good linear relationships 17 (0.01–200 ng/mL, R2 > 0.999), relative standard deviations response factors 3–18%. The limit quantitation range was 0.005–0.101 ng/mL 0.006–0.201 GC-EI-MS/MS. capabilities methods reference materials real samples. Statistical analyses that toxic equivalents (TEQs) comparable those obtained GC-HRMS, had sensitivity, repeatability, reproducibility. No difference found between results from techniques GC-HRMS when concentrations greater than 10−2 pg/g. suggest total TEQ 0.57 pg TEQ/g (lipid weight) or 0.052 (wet weight), could be used as a complementary approach GC-HRMS. Both have similar selectivity, stability HRMS confirmation analysis animal

Dioxins and furans determination in postmortem blood by gas chromatography--high-resolution mass spectrometry.

Dioxins and related compounds (furans) are persistent environmental contaminants that cause adverse biological effects. Their influence on humans is still unclear, except for accidental high-dose exposure. However, chronic exposure to these compounds seems to be involved in cancer, endocrine disruption, and neurobehavioral effects. For several years, a large concern about the potential health r...

Perchloroethylene Analysis by Chemical Oxidation and Determination of Intermediate Products by Gas Chromatography, Mass Spectrometry

Abstract Background and Objective: Perchloroethylene (PCE) is a chlorinated hydrocarbon used as a solvent in many industrial processes. In contaminated water and soil a great deal of PCE is found. This study aimed to determine the rate of decomposition of PCE occurred after advanced oxidation. Material and Methods: In this descriptive-analytic study conducted (2011) in public health faculty...

Application of gas chromatography high-resolution mass spectrometry to the determination of trace monobromopolychlorodibenzo-p-dioxins in environmental samples.

A capillary column gas chromatographic/high resolution mass spectrometric method was developed for the determination of monobromopolychlorodibenzo-p-dioxins (BPCDDs) in environmental samples. The mass spectrometer was operated at high resolution (> 10,000) in the selected ion monitoring mode with magnet switching among tetra through octa groups to achieve low or subpicogram detection limits. St...
